Expanded event will connect OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with metal producers, processors, technology providers and industry leaders addressing critical sourcing and production decisions.
Aluminum USA to Become an Annual Event, Expand into Strategic Metals and Strengthen OEM Focus Ahead of 2027 Show in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, KY — August 20, 2026: ALUMINUM USA is entering its second decade with the biggest changes in its history. Starting in 2027, the show (held every other year since it launched in 2015) will run annually, and its show floor will grow beyond aluminum to include strategic metals creating a broader platform for decision-makers across the North American metals value chain.
The timing is ideal. Roughly $37 billion is being poured into new metal-intensive manufacturing facilities in the U.S. every year now, more than double what it was before the pandemic. Over $170 billion in new projects were announced in 2025 alone, spanning automotive, aerospace, medical device, industrial and electronics manufacturing. Tariffs, reshoring, and a wave of Buy American procurement have made that money move faster than a two-year event cycle can track.
The next phase of ALUMINUM USA will center on the sourcing, supply, cost, capacity, production and sustainability priorities shaping today’s manufacturing environment. The expanded event is designed to help OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers connect with metal producers, stockholders, processors, equipment suppliers and technology providers in one focused marketplace.
“Manufacturers are navigating increasingly complex decisions related to material availability, trade policy, costs, domestic capacity and sustainability,” said Beth Casson, Senior Vice President for ALUMINUM USA. “By moving to an annual format and expanding the materials represented, ALUMINUM USA will provide a more comprehensive forum where OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and their partners can develop the relationships and insights needed to make critical sourcing and production decisions.”
The event’s evolution reflects significant changes across the U.S. manufacturing landscape. Onshoring, infrastructure investment, shifting trade policies and growing demand for resilient domestic supply chains are increasing the strategic importance of metals sourcing and production. At the same time, manufacturers face continued pressure to manage costs, reduce environmental impact and secure reliable access to essential materials.
ALUMINUM USA will address these priorities through three strategic areas:
- Greater OEM and Tier 1 participation: The event will increase its focus on attracting senior decision-makers responsible for sourcing, procurement, engineering, manufacturing and supply-chain strategy.
- Broader metal decision coverage: The addition of other metals will enable attendees to evaluate a wider range of material, supply and production needs during one visit.
- Decision-oriented industry content: An expanded program of accessible strategic content will address market conditions, trade and policy developments, capacity, pricing, sustainability and real-world OEM perspectives.
The event will also strengthen the representation of U.S. metal producers and stockholders, giving buyers greater access to organizations capable of supporting immediate and long-term supply requirements.
“Our goal is not simply to create a larger event,” Casson added. “It is to create a more valuable one—where buyers can advance real business decisions, exhibitors can build stronger relationships with qualified customers and the industry can collaborate on the issues affecting the future of North American manufacturing.”
The annual format will provide more consistent opportunities for the industry to respond to rapidly changing market conditions, build commercial relationships and evaluate emerging materials, technologies and production solutions.
ALUMINUM USA 2027 will take place May 19-20, 2027, in Louisville, Kentucky. Additional information about exhibiting, attending and participating in the conference program will be announced in the coming months.
